David
Champion
d. Jan 18, 2025
Born on May 20, 1953, to Hattie Mae (Tol) Holst and Ousley (Josie) Perkins Jr., David was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his stepmother, Josie.
David's greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his beloved children: Antonnia Champion (Cecil Gilbert Jr.), Jasmine Champion, Amber Champion, and Ashley Champion; his cherished grandchildren: Bree Martinez and Zoe Champion; and 11 siblings. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure and honor his memory.
A devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, David dedicated 40 years to public service, demonstrating excellence and commitment in his work. His impact extended beyond his career, as he touched countless lives with his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support.
The arrangements for our beloved David have been lovingly entrusted to E.H. Ford Mortuary Services and are as follows:
David Champion was more than just his name—he was a man of resilience, wisdom, and faith. Though his absence leaves a deep void, his legacy of love, integrity, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Although we grieve his earthly departure, we rejoice in the promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.
