Gregory Bernard Peters was born June 7, 1967 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Mattie Mae Peters and Howard A. Peters. Early in life, Gregory developed a love for music and an interest in media. In 1985, he graduated from Mitchell High School where he played football and sang in the chorus. In pursuit of his dream to be a disc jockey, he attended the Columbia School of Broadcasting.

Gregory launched his career at WLOK 1340 AM and WRVR 104 FM The River. Later he landed at the historic WDIA, the first radio station programmed for and by African-Americans. There he worked alongside legends such as Bobby O'Jay, Bev Johnson and his on-air partner Jeff Lee. He also hosted the midday show "Talk to Me" on WLRM 1380 AM and WMSO 104 FM Memphis Soul. Gregory graced the Memphis airwaves for 30 years and worked in all formats from Adult Contemporary AC, Gospel, Urban AC, Classic Rock, Smooth Jazz, Talk and Blues. A radio veteran, Gregory had a voice for the people and was a beloved member of the community.

Gregory exited this life on May 6, 2021. Besides his parents, Gregory's brother Gary Dewayne Peters preceded him in death.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his sister Brently Gail Bouye (Dewayne) of Memphis, Tennessee; a niece Aerial Ellis of Nashville, Tennessee and a nephew Robert Drayton (Crystal) of Cambridge, Maryland; an aunt LaVera Walker (Robert), three uncles James Ellis, Jr. (Chicola), John Ellis (Earline) and Darnell Ellis - all of Memphis; a special companion Sharon Wesley, goddaughter Adrienne Wesley and god-grandson Michael Hudson - all of Memphis; along with host of cousins, friends, and colleagues.
