Sylvester
Perkins
d. Jan 9, 2025
A LIFE CELEBRATED
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one that takes refuge in him". Psalms 34:8
Sylvester Perkin s was born May 30, 1953, to the late Charlie and Scottie Perkins in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He is the youngest of four siblings, two sisters and one brother. He was raised in Clarksdale where he spent his childhood and most of his young adult life where he met and married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Stokes. Their union was blessed with two sons (Danuel Darnell and Sylvester Jr.) and one daughter Rose Marie. Sylvester would later move to Memphis, TN. where he joined the family in business for several years before relocating to Atlanta, GA. and pursued a professional career with Treasure Chest Corporation, in Printing and Advertisement where he was employed for more than fifteen years until the closing of the firm. After the closing of Treasure Chest Corporation, Sylvester would return to Memphis, the city and place he affectionately called home, where he resided until he gained his wings. Consoled by the thought of seeing him again one day are those that loved him unconditionally: His son, Sylvester Perkins (Shunise), daughter, Rose Marie Jones- Sullivan, his two beloved sisters Bernice Gipson and Jerlene Smith (Raymond) ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close dear friends. Sylvester was lovingly greeted in Heaven by his parents (Charlie and Scottie Perkins), his son (Danuel Darnell Perkins) and his nephew (Hammond "Pooky" Gipson).
